The Lebanese Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Hajj Hassan, affirmed that what brings Lebanon and Syria together is a real partnership in various fields, expressing his hope that bilateral cooperation and exchanging experiences in the agricultural sector will continue and benefit from the Syrian experience in this field.

Hajj Hassan said in a joint press conference with the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatna, after a visit to the research station of the Arab Center for the Studies of Dry Areas and Dry Lands (ACSAD) in the age, “We are partners in humanity and our enemy is the Israeli occupation, and our partnership in the region begins with Syria to build Man and access to a society that utters terrorism.”

The Lebanese minister commended the contributions made by the Syrian state to Lebanon and thanked the Syrian leadership, government and people for their continuous giving, and said, "Every tree offered by Syria is planted as a project in the region and represents a participation that has a great impact in protecting nature."

In turn, Eng. Qatana stressed that Syria is keen on strengthening brotherly relations with Arab countries, indicating that cooperation with Lebanon aims to achieve the interests of both countries, and that distributing plants and reforestation of lands is a rebuilding, whether in Syria or Lebanon, indicating Syria's readiness to extend a helping hand, provide assistance, and share its pioneering experience in The field of fruit and forest planting production.

Qatana indicated that the terrorist war on Syria, which affected local resources, government facilities, many wells and agricultural production requirements, did not affect the government’s steps to support the agricultural sector, especially the farmer, explaining that in light of climatic changes and the great devastation caused by the war and fires that affected the country, it was necessary to Expansion of forest planting cultivation.

He pointed out that Syria's contribution by providing 200,000 forestry plants to the Lebanese side carries great meanings in terms of strengthening cooperation relations and achieving mutual benefit, and this was offset by the provision of a quantity of pine seeds from the Lebanese side.

Ministers Qatna and Hajj Hassan, and ACSAD General Manager Nasr El-Din Al-Obaid, during a tour to ACSAD research station in Al-Sun, were briefed on the reality of work and the stages of production of fruit trees “olive” and benefiting from the center’s expertise in research areas related to developing and improving the productivity of wheat, pastoral, medicinal and aromatic plants, and the results of Researches and studies on diseases of olives and fruit trees in the coastal region. They also toured the Al-Hanadi nurseries cluster and the ACSAD research station in Buqa.

Within the framework of strengthening agricultural cooperation between Syria and Lebanon, 200,000 plantations of forestry were handed over to the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, represented by Minister Hajj Hassan, as a gift from the Syrian side, while 150,000 plantations of “olive” trees were delivered to the Lebanese side, provided by ACSAD.
