China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, called on the United States and Ukraine to answer questions raised by Russia about biological programs in Ukraine.
"China firmly opposes the development, possession or use of biological or chemical weapons by any country," John was quoted by Sputnik as saying at a meeting of the UN Security Council on the biological military program in Ukraine.
"Any information about biomilitary activity should raise concern and attract the attention of the international community so that irreparable harm can be avoided," he added.
Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, reiterated during the Security Council session that the United States and Ukraine are violating the Treaty on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons, pointing to new evidence of dangerous American activities in Ukraine.
