Unknown people set fire to a rubbish bin on the grounds of the Johann Comenius School in Grafing.
The flames spread to the school building.
Damage: 50,000 euros
Grafing - In the early morning hours of Friday, a garbage can caught fire at the special needs school in Grafing.
The Kripo Erding is investigating intentional arson and is looking for witnesses.
At around 2.15 a.m., passers-by had reported a burning waste container on Kapellenstrasse.
The Grafing fire brigade, which was supported by other fire brigades, managed to extinguish the fire quickly.
However, the fire could no longer be prevented from spreading to the outside facade of the school.
People who have made suspicious observations at the time mentioned are asked to call 08122/968-0.
According to initial estimates, damage to the building and the garbage container totaled around 50,000 euros.
The Grafing, Ebersberg, Nettelkofen and Elkofen fire brigades were deployed.
The Grafing fire brigade only had a larger operation on the night of Sunday.
