An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 was recorded this Friday off the coast of Guerrero, in Mexico, and so far has left no material damage or reports of victims, according to local authorities.
The movement was recorded at 1:53 p.m. local time about six kilometers southwest of Acapulco, the National Seismological Service reported on Twitter.
Civil Protection of Guerrero said that after the earthquake the "attention protocols" were activated and that they established "communication with the municipal authorities to rule out damages."
Seismic alert in Mexico City
The movement activated the seismic alert for Mexico City and was sensitive in some parts of the Mexican capital, forcing people to leave the buildings, as witnessed by a CNN team.
On Twitter, the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that after the movement "all the protocols were activated and everything is fine."

For his part, the Secretary of Citizen Security of the Mexican capital, Omar García Harfuch, indicated on the same social network that aerial patrols were already being carried out after the movement and that "at the moment there is no news due to the earthquake."
