A car collided with a tractor west of Nuremberg on Friday afternoon.

West of the city on Rothenburger Straße near the Zirndorf district of Wintersdorf, a Toyota and a tractor collided almost without braking.
The accident was fatal for the driver of the Toyota.
He died on the spot.

It was around 4:45 p.m. when the 85-year-old Toyota driver, coming from the direction of Ammerndorf, approached an intersection on Markgrafenstrasse.
For reasons that are still unclear, the pensioner drove through the red traffic light almost without braking, according to the press release from the Central Franconia police headquarters.
At the same time, coming from a country lane, a tractor-trailer turned into Rothenburger Strasse.
The two vehicles collided with great force.

The 85-year-old sustained serious injuries in the accident, the statement said.
Rescue workers, who were called to the scene immediately, immediately tried to revive the man – without success.
The man died at the scene of the accident from his severe injuries.
