Penzberg – After two Corona cancellations, the Penzberg “Aktion KleinKunst” is planning its “Tollhub” festival again this year.

The date is from May 27th to 29th at Gut Hub.

In view of the pandemic, the activists of the Penzberg "Aktion KleinKunst" had no other choice: sadly, they had to cancel their traditional "Tollhub" in 2020 and 2021.

What remained were countless online meetings of the organizational team.

And a clear message: If the situation allows it in 2021, the festival should finally take place again.

Now "KleinKunst" boss Evi Mummert is happy to report the completion: "Tollhub" is now taking place from May 27th to 29th.

Including family day, alternative market, live music, fun and games, morning pint - and a program highlight, the cabaret evening with Andreas Rebers.

Cabaret in the barn

"Particularly important" for the organizers was the opening of the cultural industry, which had been shut down for months, to 75 percent of the visitors, reports Mummert.

"That was the decisive point." This allowed Rebers to be assured of an appearance in Penzberg - the cabaret artist had already been booked for last year.

Born in Lower Saxony and living in Munich, he comes to Gut Hub with his program "I'm happy to help".

Sponsors stayed loyal

Evi Mummert is particularly pleased about one thing: "The sponsors have all stayed with us." Many would have kept their funds ready for 2022.

And quite a few ticket holders decided not to return their tickets when the last time it was canceled and preferred to sponsor the money.

It is also important to Mummert, who has been at the forefront from the start, that the organization is now "spread over several shoulders", as she says.

Alternative market also planned

The program is set.

Rebers will start on Friday, May 27th.

Family Day is planned for Saturday, May 28th – with a children's program and music.

There should also be an alternative market.

Although the concept is not yet in place, according to Mummert, you want to have everything together by the end of March.

At the last "Tollhub" edition, around 40 stands awaited visitors.

The end of the festival would be on Sunday, May 29th, with a morning pint, "Williams Wetsox" are the order of the day.

Premiered in 1998

"Tollhub" has a long tradition in Penzberg.

It premiered in 1998, two years after the city bought Gut Hub.

"We just wanted to do it once," Mummert recalls.

But nothing came of it, the success was too great.

Most recently around 2000 visitors were counted at the festival.

The "cabaret" is actively supported by the city and its building yard.

Around 50 helpers are involved.

"Everything on a voluntary basis," emphasizes Mummert.

For the native of Penzberg, the event lives from its unique atmosphere: "All generations are there," says Mummert and raves about the diversity - clubs, schools as well as church and social institutions take part.
