At the beginning of the game the players will have to create their main character and from there embark on an adventure as students at the Hogwarts School of Wizardry in the late 1800s.
Players will need to attend classes and learn magic, spells, potions, and a variety of other lessons that will help them develop their skills as magicians.
The world map will be open and players will be able to explore Hogwarts Castle and the surroundings that surround it, and players will be able to keep going as they learn new abilities and magic that will help them reach hidden places and discover secrets, like cellar puzzles and various puzzles.
Since this is the late 1800s, the actors will not meet familiar teachers and students from the Harry Potter books, but they will meet characters like Nick-almost-without-a-head, who will give the actors tasks and challenges.

Of course it would not have been a Harry Potter-open-world game without the possibility of exploring it on our flying broom, and Hogwarts Legacy delivers the goods.
Players will also be able to take aviation lessons that will help them explore the world map efficiently and quickly as they improve their skills.
Hogwarts Legacy will include a Crafting system where players will be able to find various resources around the world in order to create new equipment or improve their existing one.
The game world will also include wide open areas or villages with other wizards beyond the school walls, and we are also exposed to the various magical animals that inhabit the game world.

Since this is an action-role-playing game, the players' character will receive its own "Skill Tree" that will improve and strengthen the various abilities as they progress.
Players will be able to complete challenges and puzzles in the open world and earn experience points (XP) and choose whether they want to get better at spells, potions, or even herbal theory - all in order to customize the style of play for players.
The trailer also reveals to us how each of the different classes can help players during battles, and they can use the potions they have learned to strengthen and give themselves special abilities, or use their special plants and abilities - like attacking or paralyzing opponents during the action.
We also get a brief glimpse into the variety of different animals we will encounter during our adventure.
