A pedestrian crossed the A3.
He wanted to go to his wife, who was waiting at the Spessart-Nord rest area.
The 36-year-old was caught and died.
Weibersbrunn - Bad accident on the A3!
When crossing the motorway near Weibersbrunn (Aschaffenburg district), a pedestrian was hit by a car on Wednesday evening and died.

According to a press release from the Lower Franconia police, the accident happened near the Spessart service station.
According to the current state of investigation, a 36-year-old was on his way back to his wife and his car, which was parked at the Spessart-Nord rest area.
Apparently he wanted to cross the freeway on foot.
"What caused him to take his life-threatening action is currently still unclear and is the subject of ongoing investigations," the officials write in their statement.
A driver just managed to brake in time, but a following Volvo hit the man head-on.
First aiders - including two doctors - were quickly on the spot, but for the 36-year-old any help came too late.
He died at the scene of the accident.
The Volvo driver, a 50-year-old from the Traunstein district, was unharmed.

The Aschaffenburg-Hösbach traffic police are entrusted with investigating the exact course of the accident.
A patrol crew from the Aschaffenburg police station, the highway maintenance department, the local volunteer fire brigade, the rescue service and an emergency doctor were also deployed.
A crisis intervention team was also on site to look after the wife, who had been waiting for her husband at the Spessart-Nord rest area.
The couple is from Romania and was apparently in transit in the region
