Geneva-SANA Syria has renewed its rejection of the mandate of the investigation committee concerned with it and its false reports that made this committee

Geneva-Sana

Syria renewed its rejection of the mandate of the investigation committee concerned with it and its false reports, which made this committee a platform to practice defamation and promote rejected accusations, demanding an end to this politicized mandate that is not accepted by the concerned state and whose work lacks credibility and objectivity.

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations Office and International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Hossam El Din Ala, said during a session of the Human Rights Council today: The report of the committee before the Council practices misleading in its handling of the situation in Syria and ignores the major challenges it faces as a result of the continuing terrorist war waged against it with the support of Regional and international parties, the foreign occupation of part of their lands, and the repercussions of unilateral coercive measures imposed to create stressful living conditions that prevent Syrians from food, medicine, oil and energy resources, in addition to the theft of natural national resources and wealth with the complicity of the American occupation to deprive the Syrian people of their economic capabilities, and the Turkish occupation’s use of water as a weapon and a tool for extortion and political pressure.

Ambassador Ala indicated that in conjunction with the efforts to extend the committee, which operates with a semi-open mandate in light of non-consensual decisions promoted by the United Kingdom on behalf of a group of countries pursuing the illusions of their interventionist agendas, Syria renews its complete rejection of the report, which contributes to providing a cover for the abuses and violations of the states sponsoring the committee’s mandate It calls on the Council to end this politicized mandate, which is not accepted by the concerned state and whose work lacks credibility and objectivity.

Ambassador Ala made it clear that after years of organizing sessions falsely called interactive dialogue, promoting unilateral reports full of politicization and professional flaws, and imposing decisions that do not reflect the reality of the situation in Syria, it is time for the Human Rights Council to act responsibly away from the plays taking place in the council hall and to replace the confrontational approach Polarization serves the narrow political interests of Western countries with a constructive dialogue and cooperation approach to enable the Council to restore its role and credibility in protecting and promoting human rights for all, away from selectivity and double standards.

Ambassador Ala pointed out that after 11 years of the war of terrorism and the military and economic aggression to which Syria was subjected with the support of the United States and its allies, and which bore catastrophic repercussions on the humanitarian and human rights situation in it, UN reports and statements by some countries in this council still echo stories that are separate from reality and reflect Insisting on continuing the failed interventionist agendas that were the main cause of the human suffering of the Syrians and the violation of their basic rights as a result of these countries’ support for terrorist organizations and their imposition of unilateral coercive measures targeting the Syrian people.

And Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations office in Geneva indicated that Syria, and its keenness to cooperate with the Council's mechanisms through constructive dialogue and cooperation based on respect for the United Nations Charter, recently completed the discussion of its third national report within the framework of the universal periodic review mechanism, where it shed light on the efforts of the state within the possibilities Available in the field of rehabilitating areas liberated from terrorism, protecting the rights of its citizens, meeting their basic needs, addressing the (Covid 19) pandemic, and securing an environment that enables displaced Syrians to return to their homeland and homes.

Ambassador Ala clarified that the third national report included responses and clarifications that would refute the allegations and accusations made to it by the reports of the investigation committee, which, like its previous reports, continues to present political agendas over humanitarian and legal considerations, pointing out that it is not surprising that these responses and information do not find their way into the reports of the committee. Which continues to falsify facts related to counter-terrorism efforts and calls the (Syrian armed opposition) organizations classified as terrorist entities linked to (Al-Qaeda) and (ISIS) operating in Idlib with the support, protection and sponsorship of the Turkish occupation.

Ambassador Ala pointed out that instead of investigating and condemning the Turkification practices and forced demographic change carried out by the Turkish occupation in parts of the Syrian territories, the reports of the commission adopt the labels given by the Turkish occupation to those areas and place the Turkish and American occupation, whose presence constitutes an attack on the sovereignty of Syria and a threat to the unity and integrity of its territories On an equal footing with the forces present at the official request of the Syrian state.
