The Nice Côte d'Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has estimated the shortfall at 50 million euros, for 2022. The Russians alone had generated 7% of tourist receipts on the Côte d'Azur. Azur, in 2019. 30% of them spend more than 200 euros per day and per person, according to the regional tourism committee (CRT).

Staying a week to ten days - in 5-star hotels and palaces, when they do not have their own villa - Russians represented 4.5% of foreign overnight stays in the region before the crisis, and up to 10% in August.
