The treasurer of the Goldach fire department embezzled 23,000 euros ten years ago.
The chairman then made a promise which he kept.
Goldach
- "We'll get every cent back." It's been ten years since Robert Lackermeier, chairman of the Goldach fire brigade association, made this promise.
The reason: The treasurer at the time had reached into the club's coffers - and was exposed.
Now the fire brigade can close the files.
The embezzled funds, interest and court costs are back in the account: around 31,000 euros.
Embezzlement at the fire brigade: “We will get every cent back”
2012 was the blackest year in the history of the Goldacher Floriansjünger: When they discussed what to give the then commander Helmut Ecker for his 60th birthday and took a look at the cash register, irregularities in the cash books were noticed.
A good 23,000 euros were missing.
The fire brigade filed a criminal complaint and set all legal levers in motion.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
“We wanted to explain and demand everything completely.
We have succeeded.
We can now close the file,” said club boss Lackermeier, not without pride, in front of the assembled team.
Many years of legal disputes lie behind the fire brigade association and those responsible, during which, according to Lackermeier, they never deviated from the stringent line they had taken.
After embezzlement: fire brigade gets money back - not even lawyers thought that was possible
“We didn't buckle a millimeter.
Because it's your money," he explained to almost 60 members at the annual meeting.
They fought for a title that survived the private insolvency of the debtor, rejected offers of settlement, negotiated with lawyers, tax advisors, associations and debtor advisors.

It is thanks to the tenacity of the club boss and his colleagues that they "really got everything back".
As Lackermeier reported, even his own lawyer did not initially think that was possible.
