City hall employee discredited: the mayor demands an apology from the Greens city council

In a public session, a Green City Councilor discredited a City Hall employee.
The mayor demands an apology - also public.
Wolfratshausen – After the public discrediting of a town hall employee by Dr.
Hans Schmidt (we reported) demands Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner (citizens' association) a - also public - apology from the Green City Council.
Schmidt was caught in the crossfire of criticism after his statements on the topic of tourism manager/surf wave.
He then explained that it wasn't "about the person Gisela Gleißl", but that he wanted to draw attention to a mistake that the head of the town hall had made.
"If he's really serious about wanting to meet me and not my employee," says Heilinglechner, then there's nothing wrong with Schmidt apologizing to Gleißl.
City councilor Schmidt assumed “little to no expertise”
The Greens representative accused the mayor at the city council meeting in February that he had made the wrong personnel decision in terms of the Surfwelle project management.
With tourism manager Gleißl, according to Schmidt, Heilinglechner put “someone in this very responsible position” who “has little or no expertise, let alone training, how to successfully implement a rather extensive project with total costs of around 1.4 million euros so far can be processed".
Mayor speaks of "bad character and zero empathy"
"Of course she has the qualifications," says Heilinglechner to our newspaper - and Gleißl will "of course" remain head of the wave project until it is over anyway.
The fact that the project was stopped after several cost increases "can't really be blamed on a person in the town hall".
The mayor points to the external planning office and the manufacturer of the shaft construction – they have repeatedly presented new prices.
Mayor: Personnel matters do not belong in the public domain
The head of the town hall emphasizes: "The administration does the job for the city council." Schmidt's public disparagement of Gleißl testifies to "bad character and zero empathy".
Even if an administrative employee had made serious mistakes: "Then that's not an issue in a public city council meeting." Personnel matters are always discussed internally, and that's not just the case in municipalities.
The fact that Schmidt put a town hall employee in a bad light "to wipe me out," says Heilinglechner, "is very bad style."
