The Algerian Directorate General of Civil Protection announced that four people were injured in the earthquake that struck Bejaia this morning.
The Algerian newspaper An-Nahar quoted the Civil Protection as saying, "Taliban and two women were injured in the municipality of Bejaia as a result of the tremor," noting that no losses were recorded in Jijel province.
An earthquake was recorded in the Algerian state of Bejaia this morning, with a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale, and its epicenter was located 28 km northeast of Ras Carbone. It was felt by the residents of Tizi Ouzou, Jijel, Bouira and the capital.
An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit the state of Medea yesterday.
