The scratch inn in Mitterlern has been sold.

The Erdinger architect Werner Rotter acquired the listed property.

Berglern – As Mayor Anton Scherer reported to the municipal council on Thursday evening, the committee had decided on the sale in a closed session, and the reason for the secrecy was no longer applicable.

What the new owner intends is already clear in the first outline: "We will have a scratch innkeeper again," said Scherer.

The mayor assumes that there will be constructive cooperation and that it can be a real upgrade for this part of the mountain people.

He has not yet given any further details.

He also gave no numbers.

As reported, the exposé mentioned almost 450,000 euros.

With the establishment of a restaurant, which according to Scherer is now also contractually fixed, the community has eliminated a lack of gastronomic offers in Berglern that has been recognized again and again.

At the same time, the inn tradition can be continued at this point.

Architect Rotter confirmed the mayor's report in an interview with the local newspaper.

However, he is currently unable to provide any specific information on the further usage concept in addition to the restaurant.

He asked for understanding that he still had to be careful with announcements.

"We have ideas, but we don't have finished concepts yet," he said.

He will now develop this in close consultation with the community.

"We will certainly work well together there," said Scherer in the municipal council.

Rotter made no secret of the fact that the project will be a challenge.

But he is optimistic: "What is easy today?"

The municipal council did not make the decision easy either.

Scherer did not want to reveal too much about the non-public debate, but indicated in an interview with our newspaper that the decision was made by a large majority, but not unanimously.

It was an intense and lengthy discussion.

However, Scherer emphasized the objectivity and constructive nature of the non-public talks.

As reported, the sale was not without controversy.

Above all, the free voters had put up massive resistance at the time, for example in the person of Albert Furtner, who had said: "You don't sell something like that!" But the municipality has now done so.

Scherer described the new owner as “monument protection affine”, Rotter will present a reasonable concept.

He has already developed several projects of this type.
