Two residents of the Galilee will be accused of being recruited for Hezbollah for the purpose of establishing the organization's infrastructure in Israel - this was allowed for publication this morning (Sunday).
The two were arrested about a month ago, and according to the indictment, they were asked to help establish an infrastructure of Hezbollah operatives, provide targets for missile attacks and locate weak points at the border for smuggling. , Arms trade and other offenses.
The main defendants are Sultan Atallah, 55, of Mirka, and Rami Shami, 33, of Jeddah.
Police believe they contacted Sami Gizwai, 56, from Mirka, as well as another suspect, a 40-year-old resident of Akbara whose identity has not yet been released, so they can help them.
According to the indictment, the two traveled to Turkey several times, and were there with arms smugglers and drugs related to Hezbollah - and were asked by them to smuggle weapons into Israel that were to serve as a new infrastructure for the organization's operatives.
Together with the two other suspects, they patrolled the border to locate possible crossing and smuggling points.
An MP5 submachine gun was found following information that came up during their investigation.
The police and the GSS said that "Israeli security forces are recognizing increasing attempts by Hezbollah elements under Iranian directive to recruit and equip Israelis with small arms and weapons in order to carry out terrorist activity in Israeli territory and assist Hezbollah in the event of a military conflict."
"The Israel Police calls on citizens who receive similar inquiries from terrorist elements to report this to the police, thus avoiding a situation in which they will find themselves suspected of collaborating with the same parties."
