In a speech, Vladimir Putin addresses his people and “the West”.

Putin again justified his war and tried to appease his people.

Moscow - Vladimir Putin wants to "carry out the Ukraine conflict to the end".

This is what the President of Russia said in a speech to his people on Wednesday.

Putin promised to increase social benefits, attacked critics among the oligarchs and did one thing above all: he continued to spread propaganda to justify his war and to stylize “the West” as an enemy of Russia.

Ukraine News: Putin's war propaganda

Originally, Putin wanted to justify his invasion by saying that Ukraine was committing genocide against Russians in the Donbass.

Thereafter called for a "denazification" of Ukraine.

Putin reiterated another allegation on Wednesday: Ukraine is said to be working with the United States to produce biological weapons in Ukraine.

These are experiments with “cholera, swine fever and the corona virus”.

For this reason, Russia must also attack the whole of Ukraine and not just the east of Ukraine, where the alleged genocide is taking place.

Putin spoke of a "successful development" of the "special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine." This assessment by the Russian President in no way corresponds to the assessment of many military experts.

Russian troops in Ukraine have made slow progress in recent weeks.

Currently, this "format", i.e. the aggressive war in Ukraine, is the only possible one, said Putin.

For this reason, the war is also "carried out to the end."

Ukraine war: Putin's enemy "West"

Putin accused "the West" of having only one goal: "the destruction of Russia".

Putin said they wanted to crush Russia in an "economic blitzkrieg".

With his new pretext for war, the Russian president sought to corner Ukraine with the "West" he demonized.

Putin used Cold War rhetoric.

He said: "It is also obvious to us that Western patrons are simply urging the Kiev authorities to continue the bloodshed." Russia's goal is "to draw a line under the West's global dominance."

Putin speech: Attack on oligarchs

The economic sanctions that have been imposed on Russia from around the world are hitting the country hard.

The ruble lost immensely in value.

Images of queues in front of grocery stores and ATMs circulated online for weeks.

In his message, the Russian ruler now promised higher pensions.

These are expected to increase by around six percent.

Only a small increase when compared to the loss of purchasing power caused by high inflation in recent weeks.

Putin also railed against "unpatriotic" Russians.

He meant oligarchs who settled in the "West" and do not want to return to Russia.

Putin understands owning a villa in Miami or on the Côte d'Azur.

However, mentally these people are no longer in Russia, but in the West.

This was reported by the Russian state agency TASS.

In France and Russia there have recently been efforts to expropriate oligarch villas.
