Deputy Head of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council in Lebanon Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib stressed today the necessity of activating the agreements signed between Syria and Lebanon within the framework of the Treaty of Brotherhood, Cooperation and Coordination for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
In his speech today in the town of Labaya in the western Bekaa region, Al-Khatib called for opening up to Syria and activating the agreements signed with it, as this has a great impact in easing the economic and living burdens on the Lebanese people.
On the other hand, Al-Khatib expressed his hope that the relationship between Syria and the United Arab Emirates, especially after President Bashar Al-Assad's visit to the United Arab Emirates, will strengthen more Arab initiatives towards Syria, in a way that enhances Arab solidarity in the face of existential dangers.
