Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky is expected to address the Knesset today (Sunday) at 6:00 p.m.
The speech will be broadcast via the zoom, and will also be broadcast publicly in the media and can be watched online.
It will also be broadcast simultaneously at Habima Square in Tel Aviv, after the municipality complied with the request of the Ukrainian Embassy and the Friends of Ukraine Organization in Israel.
Before the date of the speech was set, Knesset Speaker Miki Levy coordinated it with the faction leaders to ensure that as many Knesset members as possible would attend the event. However, it is not yet clear which cabinet ministers will take part. "This is a difficult time for the Ukrainian people," Levy told reporters last week
.
It was further stated that no references or interim comments would be allowed during the speech, "and the broadcast will end after the speech of the President of Ukraine".

Last week, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Kornichuk asked Yad Vashem chairman Danny Dayan to hold a rally at which Zalansky would deliver a video speech. Both because of his Jewishness and because he believes that what Russia is doing in Ukraine is genocide, and that Yad Vashem was established to commemorate genocide
. Zalansky hopes that, as in other countries around the world, his speech will influence public opinion to push the leadership to increase support for Ukraine.
Sources at Yad Vashem said that Dayan expressed sympathy with Ukraine during his meeting with the ambassador, but objected to holding a political event whose character did not match the spirit of the place.
