A fellow prisoner reports how Laubinger prepared his escape.
Hamburg – Despite Laubinger’s escape in 2017 and 2021, the escape king from Hamburg was granted an accompanied release again as a result of a court order since October 2021.
Initially, untied executions were possible for the October 2021 prisoner, as it is said.
From January 2022, accompanying exits from the JVA Fuhlsbüttel, called Santa Fu.
During one of these accompanying exits on March 11, 2022, Laubinger took his feet in his hands and simply ran away from the accompanying JVA officials near the Billstedtcenter, as also reported by 24hamburg.de.

Karl Laubinger back in Santa Fu: detainee presented himself in the JVA
On Wednesday evening, a police patrol discovered the fugitive in a blue VW Golf in Billstedt.
Laubinger stopped on Hollestrasse, jumped out of the car and fled on foot.
The police immediately called for reinforcements.
Armed with submachine guns, the police officers, with the support of the special unit USE, searched the surrounding gardens around the escape location.
The police helicopter Libelle circled over the scene for almost an hour and supported the search from the air.
Despite an intensive search, the fugitive was able to escape again.
Laubinger had prepared his escape: fellow inmates warned the JVA Fuhlsbüttel weeks ago
On Friday evening, March 18, 2022, Laubinger appeared at the door of the JVA and turned himself in, the Hamburg authority for justice and consumer protection announced.
After Laubinger's renewed outbreak, a fellow prisoner is now making serious allegations against the judicial authorities and the leadership of the JVA Fuhlsbüttel (Santa Fu).
In a letter to several media, the fellow prisoner in preventive detention says that Karl Laubinger was preparing for this day weeks before his escape.
In the courtyard of the detention center, he regularly practiced sprints in order to outrun his guard, as actually happened, it is said.
Despite several fellow inmates being warned, the officers apparently did not take this seriously and Laubinger managed to escape again.
Seven days on the run: no consequences for escape king Karl Laubinger?
On Monday, March 21, 2022, Laubinger is to be questioned by the authorities about his escape, because the officials still do not know why Laubinger fled and where he stayed for a week.
The escape should not have any consequences for the prisoner.
It would only be checked whether disciplinary measures are taken within the JVA, according to the judicial authority.
The management of the institution is to decide on this in the coming days.
