It's going to be quite a block: A large new office complex will soon be built in the north of Munich - work on the "Mingard" project will start this year.

Munich - At Hufelandplatz, near the Frankfurter Ring, the builders are planning new offices covering more than 100,000 square meters.

They promise "high-tech, architecture and airy greenery - from the start-up office to the representative headquarters, from the commercial unit to the unique hybrid area".

The new complex in the north includes four individual buildings, which will house offices, shops, a hotel, cafés, a restaurant and a fitness area.

Munich-based Hans Hammer, who is involved in the project with his Hammer AG, says: "Beautiful, lively feel-good places such as a central square, lush green areas and landscaped courtyards and terraces will conjure up a lot of flair in the Mingard district."

This is exactly what was missing in the north of Munich*, according to the builders: a place where people like to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues, business partners and acquaintances.

Beforehand, there had been an architecture competition for the new district.

The winning design by Morris + Company envisages clearly structured facades with lots of glass and concrete in muted colours.

Not only the interior surfaces of the buildings are important for the concept, but also the inner courtyards and terraces.
