On February 28, a few days after the start of the Russian invasion, Roman Brodecki, a 41-year-old Israeli citizen, was killed near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, while trying to flee the country.
He was apparently shot by the Ukrainian army due to a misidentification.
Brodecki traveled from Kiev to join the secure bus convoys to get out of the state borders.
