Diop, 65, explained to SANA reporter that she received the news of her son’s death two days before Mother’s Day, then received him on the 21st of March with chants and chants to increase her suffering, two months later, with her husband’s illness and then his death, to remain the sole breadwinner for her children and grandchildren. Handicrafts and even participation in exhibitions.
Diop pointed out that she displays her products in the handicraft market in Tartous, including woolen and crocheted clothes, straw dishes, household items made of bamboo and decorative pieces, in addition to all types of supplies according to the season and availability of each type of vegetables in the market.
Diop participated in exhibitions of handicrafts and heritage professions. She also held a number of training courses in several regions and in her home to teach the manufacture of straw, wool and crochet dishes, knowing that she joined the Federation of craftsmen in the governorate 14 years ago, despite the difficulty of marketing her products, which limits her ability to expand her work and employ other people. with her.
Today, Diop carries a picture of her martyred son with a necklace adorning her chest. At the same time, she enjoys sewing woolen clothes, defying all harsh conditions and stressing the importance of women's work to depend on themselves and support their family.
