Bad Tölz – The Tölz tinkerer Georg Lohmann always has the Gschau with his movable figures, which he lets swim in the Isar and the Ellbach.
However, his works of art regularly fall victim to the destructive mania.
One of his most recent works did not have a long life: ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel, sitting on a small plateau with her suitcases and waving the German flag.
Unknown people smashed the figure near the Eichmühle outdoor pool with stones.
The remains swam away until a walker spotted them a short distance away and fished them out of the water.
Only Merkel's suitcase has disappeared.
"Of course it's annoying," says Lohmann.
However, he is not surprised: "Everyone knows that one percent of the population is completely stupid, you can't do anything about it."

One can only speculate as to the motives of the perpetrator.
It is remarkable, however, that the neighboring duck family figures have remained unmolested.
He had never thought of an ad: "Looking for a stranger - that's pointless.
The police really have more important things to do,” he says.
For the time being, Georg Lohmann only wants to set up figures in the Isar, “because nothing has ever happened there before”.
A Cardinal Ratzinger figure is currently swimming there.

Lohmann normally works for two days on a new work of art and also designs a suitable mechanism.
He has been building the figures for his own use for several years.
During the corona pandemic, he had the idea of exhibiting them in Ellbach and Isar.
His guiding principle: "I wanted to do something beautiful in these sad times and provide a ray of hope." Among other things, a small penguin could be seen flapping his wings, the angel Aloisius plucking his harp, an angler plucking his Angel ejects and Donald Trump surfacing and submerging.
