The exhibition of the plastic artist, Al-Moallem Abdullah Murad, provided a rich opportunity for art lovers to see his artistic production during the past two years with a group of works that carried multiple conceptual values.

The exhibition hosted by the Blue House Gallery included about 35 artworks between paintings and wooden installations in expressive methods that touched on abstraction and in some of them were in an express abstract style and techniques varied between acrylic on canvas and different materials on paper.

The works of the exhibition require the recipient to delve into its expressive connotations and dismantle its innate emotional lines that express the strength of the artist’s line and his deep awareness of what he wants to convey from conceptual ideas in a graceful, spontaneous manner characterized by ease and abstaining, and belongs to the currents of artistic modernity.

Most of the paintings came in one-color compositions with a white background and chromatic austerity. In others, Murad presents overlappings between multiple compositions with the background, creating dramatic scenes that are harmonious in color and filled with emotional and intellectual emotions that leave freedom for the viewer to understand them according to his intellectual background and visual culture.

About the exhibition, artist and plastic critic Ghazi Aana spoke in a statement to SANA that Murad did not leave the banks of his experience, which he began to establish after graduating from the College of Fine Arts in Damascus in 1970, by confirming his presence in annual exhibitions and a group of many individual exhibitions since the mid-seventies inside and outside Syria in That period witnessed a remarkable formational movement.

What characterizes Murad’s experience in Aana’s opinion is his sincerity to his abstract formulations, which in their Westernization sometimes reached the limits of lyricism and color music, as in this exhibition, in which his experience was manifested in the uniqueness of its privacy, especially with his drawing of remnants of forms that swim within the void of the painting in completeness with the color system and its derivatives, which gave the scene according to Aana Lots of harmony, vitality and movement.

It is noteworthy that Murad was born in Homs in 1944. After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University, he worked as a teacher of art education at the Teachers Institute. He won the first prize in the Salute to Miro and Picasso exhibition, which was held by the Spanish Cultural Center in Damascus. He held individual exhibitions in Damascus, Homs, Beirut and Paris, and his works are owned by The Ministry of Culture and the Damascus National Museum are among private collections inside and outside Syria.
