Bomb find in Nuremberg: Evacuation of over 1000 residents - also three kindergartens affected

It was not until mid-January that a bomb was discovered during construction work on Brunecker Strasse in Nuremberg.
Now there was another aerial bomb find.

Once again, construction workers found a bomb in Nuremberg.
More than 1000 residents have to leave their homes for the defusing.
Kindergartens are also affected.

Again, numerous residents have to be evacuated.
A bomb was not found in Brunecker Strasse until mid-January.
On Monday, construction workers found a World War II bomb on Maiacher Strasse.
The American aerial bomb with two impact fuses weighs 125 kilograms.
"The explosive ordnance clearance service has set an evacuation radius of 300 meters around the bomb site," the city announced.

According to the city, there are around 1050 residents in the specified radius.
Three kindergartens and one primary school are also affected: Maiacher Straße primary school, St. Gabriel Catholic Church kindergarten (Resedenweg 3a), Nuremberg city kindergarten/daycare center (Maiacher Straße 18), daycare center (An der Marterlach 28).
The evacuation is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Defusing the bomb is then scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Helene von Forster School, Am Röthenbacher Landgraben 65, is the care center for those affected who have to leave their homes. According to the city, traffic on the Südwesttangente and the Frankenschnellweg is not affected.
However, train traffic to the marshalling yard will probably have to be interrupted for the duration of the mitigation.
A citizen hotline on (09 11) 64 37 58 88 has also been set up.
