The fifth wave of the epidemic has struck, and the handling of confirmed cases of infection has exceeded the capacity of public hospitals.

In the face of heavy pressure, at our most difficult time, the central government sent a medical team from the mainland to Hong Kong to treat and take care of COVID-19 patients in a coordinated operation mode with our medical staff.

The arrival of a timely rain will not only allow patients to receive appropriate treatment, but also relieve the pressure on our medical staff and help improve the capacity of community treatment facilities to receive patients.

The fifth wave of the epidemic in Hong Kong continues. More than 390 members of the mainland medical team arrived in Hong Kong and actively familiarized themselves with the operation mode of the new crown treatment center (AWE), and treated the new crown patients with our frontline colleagues.

Before the epidemic, we had been communicating with medical and nursing staff in different places, both in the mainland and overseas. There were lecture-style sharing and short-term exchanges in the form of learning. However, under the fifth wave of the epidemic, we have the opportunity to cooperate with mainland medical and nursing staff. This is the "most buried" exchange between the mainland and Hong Kong medical circles.

Doctors and nurses in the two places are working together to treat patients with COVID-19 and practice the collaborative operation model.

The mainland medical staff sent to Hong Kong for support include doctors, nurses and allied health personnel. Most of them are from Guangdong Province, and they understand Cantonese and have a certain level of English.

I have come into contact with them on different occasions, and I have come to realize that their attitude is professional. There are many professors among them, and more importantly, many of them have participated in the anti-epidemic work in the Mainland.

I believe that experience is the key to victory in wars, so the valuable experience of this group of "comrades-in-arms" will definitely be useful to us.

Last week, after my initial communication with the mainland medical team for Hong Kong, I felt that they were indeed "caring and enthusiastic".

How can you see it?

Since most of the patients in AWE are relatively seriously ill and have poor self-care ability, most of them are elderly, and many of them are incapable of walking, need to be bedridden for a long time, or suffer from various chronic diseases. Therefore, the support team consists of doctors and nurses. In addition, there are physiotherapists who can help some elderly people do some simple rehabilitation exercises to keep their body functions as normal as possible.

Knowing the micro, it can be seen here that the mainland experts made such a manpower arrangement after careful consideration and review of the current situation.

The arrival of the mainland medical team in Hong Kong to support medical care in Hong Kong will not only relieve the pressure on our medical staff, but also help improve the capacity of community treatment facilities to receive elderly patients in need of care.

I learned from the newspapers that many team members have given up their personal affairs in order to come to Hong Kong to fight the epidemic. Some people have temporarily bid farewell to a pair of precious daughters, while others have postponed their wedding dates. I was deeply moved by this move.

At the same time, their coming to Hong Kong to fight the epidemic is under closed-loop management, and their work place is not in a hospital. They can’t drink, eat, or go to the bathroom within four hours. Under such conditions, they are still willing to go to Hong Kong to help us. Mainland medical staff uphold emergency care The spirit of helping those in danger is enough for me to have a deeper understanding and feeling of the words "one side is in trouble, all sides support".

Today, the central government sent the best doctors and nurses to Hong Kong to join hands with us to treat COVID-19 patients. The SAR government has formulated an epidemic prevention policy of "reducing deaths, reducing severe illness, and reducing infections". I hope that with the efforts of all parties, this wave can be stopped as soon as possible. Epidemic, protect the lives of citizens.

"Hong Kong 01" "01 Clinic", in cooperation with the Hospital Authority, publishes a column "Garden Tour" written by medical staff every Wednesday.

Apricot Forest.

"Xinglin" comes from the story of Dong Feng, a famous doctor in the Three Kingdoms era. Later generations praised medical care as "Xinglin". Four people from Xinglin from the Hospital Authority led the garden to visit Xinglin Grand View Garden. A little bit of reason.
