Sony's exclusive key family continues to grow and grow, and Herman Holst, head of the PlayStation Studios division, releases a statement on the official blog that the company has acquired Haven Studios located in Montreal, and that it will work on an exclusive multiplayer game for PlayStation consoles.
Haven Studios was founded about a year ago by a former producer and creator at Ubisoft called Jade Raymond, who helped create the Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs game series.
She was also responsible for the establishment of Ubisoft's development branch in Toronto, and helped establish Motive Studios - a studio located in Montreal and owned by EA.

Sony is arming itself for the future
Contacts between Sony and Haven began last year from the moment Jade announced the establishment of the new studio, and Sony has announced that their first project will be a network game that will also serve as a new brand (IP).
One of the main claims heard about Sony's conduct over the last generation is that the company does not own a popular network game (like Fortnight or Voice of Duty Warzone) that has a digital store that will maintain and bring in regular profits for the company.
Nowadays this is a must-have service for any company, and it seems that the acquisition of Haven is meant to close this corner of Sony in the future, in addition to a number of network games unveiled during the State of Play conference held over the past month.
Another claim that has been heard about Sony in the current generation is its subscription method, and its answer is probably the subscription service that will equal and compete directly against Microsoft's Game Pass, which according to various reports will be released in the coming months.
Sony also recently unveiled its virtual reality glasses, the PS VR2.
All of these steps show us that Sony listens to criticism from players and the industry, and takes steps that will also equate them to competitors in every aspect in the future.

This is the first developer Sony has acquired in 2022. During 2021 Sony went into a frenzy of acquisitions and acquired Valkyrie Entertainment which helped it develop God of War Ragnarok, Firesprite which developed The Playroom and titles for virtual reality glasses.
In addition, it acquired Housemarque, which developed the Returnal game for the PlayStation 5 console, Dutch developer Nixxes, and of course Insomniac, which developed the Spider-Man game and the mythical Ratchet & Clanck series for it.
Now Sony's exclusive number of keys stands at 18.
All that is left is to hope that this will not be the end, and the company will continue to attract more and more additional talent to it and thus increase the number of exclusive and invested titles for PlayStation consoles.
