The paintings of the first solo exhibition of the plastic artist Eva Al-Abbas, which opened in the Arab gallery in Damascus today, carried deep meanings and connotations through its lines and colors, embodying the meanings of nostalgia in all its forms.

The exhibition, entitled "Haneen", included 31 plastic works that adorned the walls of the exhibition in different sizes and techniques, including acrylic, pastel and oil.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the plastic artist, Eva, said that many meanings and connotations lie under the term nostalgia, which she chose to be the name of her exhibition, beginning with nostalgia for the cultural heritage threatened with extinction and nostalgia for the basalt stone that characterizes the city of Suwayda, and this was evident in most of her paintings.

Eva, who used warm colors in her paintings, focused in other works on ancient architecture, drawing details of it, such as the domes and arches that characterize the city of As-Suwayda.

Eva derives her works from the cultural heritage, the surrounding nature and the people with whom she interacts in society, indicating that her artistic visions are generated through the merging of her feelings and their reflection on the surface of the painting and her choice of colors according to the immediate situation she feels and her many observations until the painting gains a plastic building.

Since graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1996, Al-Abbas has participated in several group art exhibitions in the city of As-Suwayda, and in the annual autumn and small painting exhibitions.
