"Hartz and cordial": Life in public can have negative consequences - Elvis and the other Barackler already know that.

But the man from Mannheim didn't expect so much hate:

Since 2017, episodes of the social documentary "Hartz und Herzen"* have been broadcast on TV from the Benz barracks in Mannheim.

Week after week, RTLZWEI viewers can experience the hard everyday life of Hartz VI recipients from their sofa at home.

The cult resident Elvis with his wife Katrin and their eight children is particularly well received by the fans, as MANNHEIM24 * reports.

The 49-year-old grew up in the Benz barracks and has been living there with his family since 2008.

Because of his open and sympathetic nature, the family man has many fans and therefore even got his own web series on Facebook with "Einfach Elvis".

But being a TV celebrity also has its downsides.

In addition to uninvited fan visits and viewer mail, the residents of the Benz barracks also regularly receive hate messages on social media.

The father of eight has repeatedly appealed to viewers to reduce flying visits and stop hate speech on the Internet.

Normally, the Hartz IV recipient takes a lot of things with humour* – but now Elvis has had enough!

The cult resident vents his anger on Facebook and addresses a problem that also affects other residents of the Benz barracks: resentment and haters.

Elvis cannot understand that people "waste so much of their lives looking at others," as the father of eight says on Facebook.

The Benz barrackler even goes one step further: "Do you actually know who the biggest fans are?

The HATER".

With the Facebook post, Elvis met with great approval from the fans: the behavior of haters is the bottom drawer - most agree on that.

"Very well written, just let people talk and live your life the way you want to."

It doesn't matter what the others say," writes one user.

Other comments on Facebook emphasize what Elvis also wants: "To everyone who doesn't like us, just don't look," reveals the viewer's favorite in "Simply Elvis".

Many viewers also agree: "If you don't want to see you, don't watch, I love the show and the Benzler and I'm always happy when I see you," comments a user under Elvis' Facebook post.

The Mannheim resident has nothing against factual criticism.

However, he feels sorry for the people who spread hate messages online because, according to Elvis, "they no longer have their own lives on the screen".
