On the occasion of Mother's Day, the Syrian Society for the Treatment and Care of Children with Cancer held a ceremony to honor 75 mothers of children with cancer at the Society's headquarters, which included an artistic segment presented by children recovering from cancer.
Muzna Alabi, the association's president, spoke about the activities and medical services provided by the association and giving children self-confidence and the ability to challenge illness.
Ahmed Najjar, Secretary of the Idlib Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, explained in his speech the importance of integrating charitable work with the government's effort to serve children and provide support and care for them.
In a statement to SANA, mothers Narges Mawlawi and Newroz Kusa drew attention to the comprehensive role played by the Syrian mother in caring for her children and providing them with support to overcome the disease, especially as she was and still is a symbol of giving and sacrifice. And their feeling of happiness on the occasion of the association honoring them on Mother's Day.
On the other hand, it honored the civil initiatives undertaken by the Hayat Initiative and the Syrian Chef and the Warm the Mothers campaign in the House of Care and Love for the Elderly of the Saint Mansour Charitable Society.
Shukri Qayyumji, coordinator of the Hayat initiative, said in a statement to SANA that honoring the mothers who are inmates in the nursing home and loving the elderly comes on the occasion of Mother's Day, and it is a humanitarian duty to help the elderly with the aim of raising their morale, taking care of them and taking care of them.
"The initiative aims to achieve happiness for elderly mothers, instill joy in their souls and compensate them for the loss of their children," said Joseph Jomla, a member of the Association's Elderly Home Committee.
A number of resident mothers expressed their joy in honoring and thanking the owners of the initiative, which had a good effect in alleviating them and contributing to the dedication of charitable work.
