The exclusive methodology of Le Parisien/Aujourd'hui en France is based on the progression of students from the second to the baccalaureate and not the pure performance of students in Terminale.
Our ranking therefore highlights little-known high schools but which, with strong support from teachers, are increasing their numbers compared to a national average (based on the results of the patent, the structure of the high school population, socio-demographic criteria): high schools that allow a social lift.

As the success rate and mention rate are always higher with the introduction of continuous assessment (imposed in 2020 with the pandemic and structural via the reform of the 2021 baccalaureate), the access rate from the second to the baccalaureate allows to analyze selective high schools compared to supportive high schools.
Only high schools that have presented more than 20 students for the General and/or Technological Bac exam or 10 students who are candidates for the Bac Pro are present in the data provided by the Ministry.
For our national ranking, we only take into account high schools with more than 100 students / no filter for departmental and regional rankings.
Origin of High School Rankings data
While the first success statistics for the Bac 2021 were known at the beginning of July, as soon as the first results of the candidates were published, it was not until the end of the remedial orals and the replacement session in September to know the last final results of the 2021 session. Then the Ministry calculates the expected values according to the student profiles and submits the data to us in March for publication today (the publication date of Wednesday March 23 is imposed by the Ministry).
Each media chooses to publish according to its methodology the figures and the classification algorithm.
