Corona measures are becoming fewer and fewer in Europe, but they are rarely completely abolished.

What currently applies in Denmark, Spain, Italy & Co.

Corona entry restrictions and requirements are constantly changing: 2G still applies in Greece, in Denmark there is no longer any sign of Covid at first glance*.

If you want to travel now, you have to be well informed.

The specialist portal "fvw TravelTalk" provides an overview.

Holidays in Denmark, Spain & Co. - What you currently have to consider when traveling in Europe

  • Denmark

: All restrictions are lifted here.

A negative Covid-19 test result, a full vaccination or a certificate of recovery is only officially required for access to health areas (e.g. hospitals and nursing homes).

    A mask is recommended there.

Attention: Private companies or cultural institutions may also request proof and masks.

  • France

: Masks are no longer compulsory in France since March 14, 2022.

However, public transport and medical facilities are excluded.

In cinemas, cafés, museums and restaurants, vaccination certificates no longer have to be presented, and this did not have to be the case before in retail either.

In hospitals and retirement homes, only a health pass is required, which can also consist of a negative corona test.

  • Italy

: From April, proof of vaccinations, certificates of convalescence or tests will not be required in hotels, local transport and shops.

From May 1st, the obligation to provide proof is to be completely abolished.

Until then, 2G will remain mandatory in public interiors (restaurants, sports halls, cultural institutions or clubs).

On planes and long-distance trains, the 3G rule applies until May 1st.

Wearing an FFP2 mask is mandatory on all public transport, at cultural events, in entertainment venues and at sporting events.

The regulation initially applies until March 31, 2022, according to the website of the Italian embassy in Germany.

It is unclear what will happen after that.

  • Spain

: A mask requirement applies nationwide in public, closed rooms and means of transport.

At major outdoor events, masks are mandatory if the participants are standing or if the distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained while sitting.

Access restrictions vary from region to region.

    In

    Andalusia

, according to "fvw TravelTalk", there are still restrictions on opening times and the number of visitors in restaurants and leisure activities in closed rooms.

It is recommended to visit the Andalusia Regional Government website.

There are still access restrictions on the

    Canary Islands

, but these do not apply uniformly to all islands.

The local tourist office offers more detailed information.

  • Greece

: The 2G rule still applies here in many areas.

Visiting gastronomy (indoors), cinemas, museums and clubs is only permitted to vaccinated and recovered people.

The 3G rule applies in retail, banks or public authorities.

Access is therefore also possible for people who have not been vaccinated, provided they can show (at least) one antigen test that is not older than 24 hours.

A vaccination certificate, a test (PCR not older than 72 hours or antigen not older than 48 hours) or a certificate of recovery is also required for national trips.

The Greek entry form was recently abolished for this.
