Thuringia's Finance Minister Heike Taubert (SPD) has withdrawn her cabinet proposal for the first cornerstones of a 2023 budget, according to a government spokesman.
"The finance minister has taken over the budget process again," said the spokesman on Tuesday in Erfurt after a cabinet meeting.
Most of the cabinet members who spoke were in principle willing to support the proposal, but there were notes in the minutes.
Erfurt - Taubert's step was therefore received with surprise.
Taubert announced that she would like to send out a budget statement “on the basis of the estimates available this year, increased by a minimum compensation for expected cost increases of 115 million euros”.

Taubert referred to requests from the ministries amounting to 900 million euros and various objections, which is why an agreement in the cabinet was not possible.
"We must start now if we are to stay on schedule and reach the September plenary session," she said.
