The Dohat Al-Mimas Musical Club in Homs performed this evening a traditional musical concert at the Palace of Culture stage, which was held by the Directorate of Theaters and Music of the National Theater in Homs, in the presence of a large audience.
The concert included works from the eyes of the Arab musical instrumental and lyrical heritage between the links of Nahawand Sama'i, Hijaz Kar and Hijaz Kar Wheel by Omar Al-Batsh, Sayed Darwish and Ahmed Ashour, and songs by Umm Kulthum.
Tammam Al-Awani, the club's director, stressed to SANA the importance of the concerts presented by the club, which bring together lovers of music, art and authentic heritage, which has been the specialty of Dohat Mimas Club for 80 years.
According to Al-Awani, since the beginning of the year, the club has presented five musical concerts, adding to the musicians and singers a lot of experiences that they need on a permanent and continuous basis because excellence in art requires continuous training and keeping pace with life.
In turn, the band's leader, Jihad Sharfly, explained that this concert is his first as a band leader, which bears a great responsibility to maintain the club's artistic approach, which has specialized since its establishment in presenting songs of tarab and heritage.
The artist, Mowaffaq Al-Shamali, expressed his happiness to return to the Mimas club after a long absence due to travel for more than twenty years and his standing in front of the Homs gourmet audience, where he presented a number of lyric links, including “Maria, the stranger of the house” and “Oh, a bird that follows the trees.”
It is noteworthy that the club was founded in 1933 based on the revival of lyrical heritage, muwashshahat, poem and money.
