In the trial of the triple murder in Starnberg, the main defendant made a confession on the 44th day of the trial yesterday.

While the murder of the son (23) was planned, his parents got in the way of the perpetrator.

The motive for the crime was allegedly a planned killing spree that the accused wanted to prevent.

Starnberg/Munich – A good two years ago, the bloody deed in Starnberg caused great horror.

In January 2020, the father, mother and son were found dead in their bedroom.

At first everything looked like a takeaway suicide by the 23-year-old, a gunsmith trainee.

But the Munich II public prosecutor's office did not give up - in the end, two friends (20 and 22 years old) of the son were arrested.

They have been on trial since August 2021.

The prosecution accuses the elder of having fired the shots.

The younger is said to have known about the murder plan and drove the main perpetrator to the crime scene.

So far the young men had been silent.

"I completely emptied the gun"

The turning point yesterday: the 22-year-old enters the courtroom in Munich-Stadelheim prison with a handful of A4 sheets of paper.

His defense attorney Gerhard Bink announces a statement that his client will present himself.

The excited man begins to mumble a little to read what he has written in block letters over seven pages.

In this family home, the couple and their son were literally executed.

“I hereby concede the allegations in the indictment in full.

On January 11, 2020, around two o'clock, I first killed my former boyfriend with his Glock with a shot in the right temple," reads the young man.

Apparently the father was awakened by this.

In the bedroom, he briefly faced the perpetrator.

At that moment, the 22-year-old thought he was armed and started shooting.

He then shot his mother in bed.

Next he took aim at the dog that was walking towards him in the dark.

"I shot the gun completely empty," the statement said.

The co-accused friend knew about the plan to kill the son.

"I had discussed this with him days earlier and asked him if he could drive me to Starnberg and pick me up," the letter says.

Then the two wanted to get the guns out of the house and into the car and later sell them for a profit.

“We were thinking of proceeds of around 400,000 to 600,000 euros.

We wanted to increase the proceeds with shares.”

Armed to the teeth

The video of the crime was said to have been the idea of the younger man, who did not want to enter the house but was keen to have a video of the crime.

From the car he asked his buddy to send him the video "where I rap".

Rapping was considered a synonym for action.

Attack with meat tenderizer: prosecution calls for several years in prison

In the trial for an attack with a meat tenderizer, the prosecution before the Fulda district court demanded a prison sentence of four years for dangerous bodily harm.

The 57-year-old defendant admitted to having fatally injured a then 44-year-old friend with a meat tenderizer and a knife in his apartment in Fulda on July 16, 2021 - out of frustration with his broken television and computer.

The motive for killing the son was allegedly exclusively his killing spree plan.

Between January 17 and 18, 2020, he wanted to kill as many people as possible with multiple weapons "armed to the teeth (that's what he literally said)" and then shoot himself.

With that, he would become famous and go down in history.

The defendant quoted him as saying that his life would at least have had meaning.

The 22-year-old regretted his actions – including two supermarket robberies – and apologized.

He could have reported the killing spree to the police.

But he feared that the son would then take revenge on him.

The trial will continue on Thursday.
