Kyiv – Volodymyr Zelenskyy has long since become a symbol of resistance against Russia in the Ukraine war.

For this reason alone, the Ukrainian president is in the crosshairs of the Kremlin - and has apparently escaped an attempt on his life again.

According to Ukrainian counterintelligence, an assassination attempt on Zelenskyy was stopped.

Accordingly, a group of Russian saboteurs, led by a secret service agent, were arrested in the city of Uzhgorod in the border triangle between Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary.

This was reported by the Unian news agency on Tuesday night.

It is said to have been about 25 men who were on their way to Kyiv.

According to intelligence information, the group had pursued several goals in the Ukrainian capital: the assassination of Zelensky and other acts of sabotage that would have given Russia and the Kremlin strategic advantages in the Ukraine war.
