War is still raging in Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko is scheduled to speak via video link in Munich.

Munich - As mayor of the capital Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko also played an important and formative role in the Ukraine war.

On Wednesday, March 23, the former professional boxer is to be connected to the Munich City Council via video.

War in Ukraine: Klitschko speaks at the Munich City Council

As the city announced, the meeting with Klitschko is planned right at the beginning of the meeting at 9 a.m. - "if the situation in Munich's twin city allows it, which has been under fire from the Russian armed forces for weeks and is increasingly surrounded".

Afterwards there will be a minute's silence in the city council for the victims of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

The meeting will also deal with planned support for Ukraine and Ukrainian war refugees.

Ukraine conflict: live broadcast with Klitschko to Munich planned

About two weeks ago, Vitali Klitschko, who has been mayor of Kyiv since 2014, and his brother Wladimir were guests at the meeting of the Würzburg City Council via live broadcast.

Munich is Kiev's sister city.

This was also one of the reasons why Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD), the Russian conductor and friend of Vladimir Putin, Valeri Gergiev, asked for a statement against the war and then threw him out when he didn't get there.
