Find a way out, before going even further into the horror.

While the war has entered kyiv, now placed under curfew, it continues elsewhere in the country, on the 27th day of the Russian offensive.

In Kharkiv, like Mariupol, Odessa or Mykolaiv, the bombs continue to rain down and have taken away a 96-year-old survivor of the Nazi camps.

In an interview with several media broadcast overnight from Monday to Tuesday, the Ukrainian president for the first time said he was open to "trying to address everything that upsets and displeases Russia".

A meeting “in any form whatsoever”

Volodymyr Zelensky wants to discuss with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin a "compromise" on Donbass and Crimea to "stop the war".

Any compromise on these territories will however have to be ratified by Ukrainians in a referendum, and be accompanied by security guarantees for his country, he however warned.

But Ukraine cannot accept any ultimatum from Russia, Zelensky warned.

"We must first destroy us all, only then their ultimatums will be respected", declared the Ukrainian president.

He also insisted on the need for a "meeting", "in whatever form", with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to "stop the war" in Ukraine.

“I believe that without this meeting it is impossible to fully understand what they (the Russians) are ready for in order to stop the war,” Zelensky said in an interview with Suspilne, a Ukrainian regional state media.

The Head of State also spoke at length about the key issue of NATO.

“We have all already understood this.

We are not accepted (in NATO), because they (its member states) are afraid of Russia.

That's all.

And we have to calm down and say: OK, (it will take) other security guarantees,” he said.

Mariupol refuses to capitulate

Ukraine will not “lay down its arms and will not leave the besieged city” of Mariupol (south), declared its Deputy Prime Minister, ignoring a Russian ultimatum.

The European Union has denounced the indiscriminate destruction in the besieged city as a “major war crime” and decided to double its financial support for arms purchases sent to kyiv.

Putin plans to use chemical and biological weapons, Biden says

US President Joe Biden said it was "clear" that Russia is considering using chemical and biological weapons in Ukraine, warning that such a move would prompt a "tough" Western response.

“He has his back to the wall,” Joe Biden said of Russian President Vladimir Putin, pointing out that Moscow recently accused the United States of possessing chemical and biological weapons in Europe.

“It's just not true.

I guarantee it,” he insisted during a meeting with American business leaders in Washington.

“They (the Russians) also claim that Ukraine has chemical and biological weapons in Ukraine.

This is a clear sign that he (Vladimir Putin) is planning to use both types of weapons,” he continued.

The American president thus reiterates a warning issued earlier this month after Russian officials accused Ukraine of trying to hide a supposed chemical weapons program supported by Washington.

“Now that Russia has issued its false accusations and China appears to be embracing this propaganda, we must monitor any possible Russian use of chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine,” White House spokeswoman Jen warned. PSAKI on Twitter.

Russian oligarch Abramovich's yacht docked in Turkey

A yacht belonging to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has docked in southwestern Turkey, a country that does not apply Western sanctions against Russian oligarchs, including the owner of the Chelsea club.

Solaris, a 140m long luxury boat flying the flag of Bermuda, was filmed in the tourist town of Bodrum on Monday, more than a week after being spotted in a port in Montenegro, which is not a member of the 'European Union.

Western countries, led by the United States and the European Union, imposed unprecedented sanctions against Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, placing oligarchs, including Mr. Abramovich, and relatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the list of these retaliations.

Several countries have seized yachts belonging to the wealthiest Russians and US President Joe Biden has assured that the allies "will come for your ill-gotten gains".
