(CNN Spanish) --

The heavy rain that fell on Asunción on Tuesday caused flooding in much of the Paraguayan capital.

The strong torrents turned some streets into rivers, dragging vehicles and flooding houses and businesses.

Local media showed images of a child who was left in the middle of the strong current hugging a tree for at least 20 minutes, before being rescued by a person who braved the current and brought him to safety with the help of a rope.

Likewise, they showed how a public transport unit with passengers on board was carried by the waters.

Finally, all the passengers managed to get safely out of the water and out of danger.

Local authorities have so far reported no deaths or injuries.

In a statement, the festival organizers announced their decision to cancel the first day of concerts "due to severe weather conditions and to preserve the safety" of the public, the artists and their team.

Machine Gun Kelly decided to give an impromptu show for his fans, in front of his hotel in Asunción.

The rapper announced on his Twitter account that, despite the flooding of the Asunción Festival site, he had requested a speaker to give a show in front of his hotel.

“The concert ground was flooded in Paraguay tonight so they canceled our performance but I just ordered a giant speaker so meet me in front of my hotel now you will have a show,” Machine Gun Kelly posted on his Twitter account.
