There have been repeated warning strikes at Postbank since January.

The new collective agreement is now in place.

Employees get more money and protection against dismissal is extended.

Frankfurt/Bonn - In their third round of negotiations, the Verdi trade union and the employers have agreed on a new wage agreement for Postbank.

Verdi announced this on Wednesday.

The employees of the institute, which belongs to the Deutsche Bank Group, will receive a salary increase of 3.1 percent from June 1, 2022 and in a second step from February 1, 2023 a further increase of 2.1 percent, but at least 100 euros .

In addition, there will be a one-off payment of EUR 750 each in May of this year and in January 2023.

The exclusion of redundancies for operational reasons, which was limited until June 30, 2023, will be extended until January 31, 2024.

As Verdi further announced, the remuneration for the trainees will increase in two steps by a total of 100 euros.

In addition, in May of this year and in January 2023 there will be a one-time payment of EUR 200 each.

Verdi had demanded six percent more money and a corona bonus of up to 1,500 euros for around 15,000 Postbank employees.

With repeated warning strikes, the union had emphasized the demands.

The negotiations for the Postbank were conducted separately from the collective bargaining for 140,000 employees of private banks in Germany, because the institute traditionally has in-house collective agreements.

Separate collective bargaining has also been underway for the state and development banks since last summer.

The collective bargaining talks for Postbank began on January 10th.
