The Broslhof in the heart of Inning is a popular holiday guesthouse.

The 20 rooms and holiday apartments on Brucker Strasse were all occupied yesterday when the fire alarm went off at around 1:30 a.m. in the middle of the night.

A fire broke out in a room on the first floor.

The two room occupants were able to save themselves in time, but had to be taken to the hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.

Inning

– The alarm suggested something bad, says Markus Schamberger, second commander of the Inning volunteer fire brigade.

Building on fire, high number of people, and in a "hotel", according to the message - that's behind the abbreviation B4-Alarm.

The alarm was correspondingly extensive.

The fire brigades from Inning, Eching, Buch, Seefeld-Oberalting and Walchstadt were in action.

"And a few more," says Schamberger, who fortunately were able to turn around while driving there after it was established that the fire, probably caused by a technical defect in a television set, only affected one room.

Nevertheless, all residents and guests were initially woken up if they were not already awake by the blue lights and sirens.

"One person was considered 'missing' because she didn't open his door," says Schamberger.

But this guest on the upper floor was finally woken up and taken outside to safety.

The excitement of the Friedl host family was naturally great, but so was the relief that the damage with burned equipment and the burnt carpet as well as the charred electrical system and a soot-covered wall in just one room was limited.

After everything had been searched for other danger spots, the room had been aired and the rooms had been "cleared", i.e. no more pollutants could be found, the boarders, with the exception of the two occupants of the affected room, were able to go back to their accommodations, according to Schamberger.

After an hour and a half the spook was over.

The members of the volunteer fire brigades were able to withdraw again.

District fire inspector Andreas Pain, who was also on site, estimates the number of firefighters deployed at around 40 and the damage to property in the lower four-digit range.
