Erding - The Kolping Family Erding has collected more than a ton of stamps in the past 20 years - and thus helped to do good.
For more than 20 years, the Kolping Family Erding has been proving how great help can be provided with a small piece of paper.
She has been collecting stamps for a good cause for a long time.
Stamped stamps from the daily mail are in demand, but also sorted scrapbooks.
"In these two decades, well over a ton of stamps and albums have been sent to Cologne," reports organizer Helga Geißler.
Especially in the past two years, when many people have been rummaging in their attics or basements during the lockdowns, "a lot of stamp collections have been left to us".
Kolping International sells the stamps to dealers in packs of kilos.
The proceeds flow into worldwide educational measures.
Training in Africa, Asia or Latin America costs far less than in Germany.
300 euros are often enough for a young person to learn a trade and find their way into permanent work.
Anyone who would like to hand in stamps of any kind should contact Geißler, Tel. (01 71) 4 98 00 37.
