Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has been convicted again.

But that will hardly stop his organization.

Moscow – Jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has been sentenced to nine years in prison in another controversial trial.

A court in a penal colony in Pokrov east of Moscow* found the opposition on Tuesday guilty of embezzlement and contempt of court in an earlier trial.

Navalny will have to serve the sentence in a penal colony* with stricter prison conditions, as judge Margarita Kotowa decided.

This means that the prison conditions for the 45-year-old will continue to deteriorate compared to the Pokrov penal colony, where he is serving a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence.

The prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin* was also sentenced to a fine of 1.2 million rubles (around 10,000 euros) on Tuesday (03/22/2022).

Alexei Navalny: Allies reveal 'plan' for Putin

But that's unlikely to silence Alexei Navalny.

In an interview with the Daily Beast news portal, Lyubov Sobol, an employee of Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Fund, asserted that Moscow's efforts had failed.

She and her team have a "plan" for Putin while the Russian president continues his war against Ukraine.

"We continue to act in the new reality of war and are fully aware that Putin wants to keep Navalny behind bars as long as he rules Russia*," Sobol said in an interview after Navalny's sentencing on Tuesday (03/22/2022).

“But we also have a plan: we are growing worldwide, we are reporting from many countries, and more people are listening to us.

And if earlier we collected and uncovered evidence of Putin's corruption - now we are reporting the facts of Putin's war crimes to the Russians.”

Ukraine war: Alexei Navalny's allies reveal the unvarnished truth

34-year-old Sobol runs the YouTube channel Navalny Live, which distributes videos and photos from the Ukraine conflict.

The materials include arrests of Russian soldiers to the suffering of Ukraine's civilian population.

“While the propaganda lied to the Russians about the special operation, our channel's viewership has increased by 20 million in the last month, so we now have more than 80 million views every month.

People are watching us, despite the terrible pressure on the free internet in Russia,” Sobol points out.

"I address Russian women, mothers, and declare that war will come to every single family with a coffin of their young dead sons." (marv)
