During the day, Sony released an update to the PlayStation 5 operating system that included quite a few changes and adjustments such as different accessibility options and group chat, and although these are some welcome changes that the community expected to receive, quite a few players report various glitches online.
A number of gamers are posting posts on Twitter showing that after installing the latest update, the PlayStation console does not recognize their PS PLUS subscription and they are experiencing glitches in connecting and recognizing Sony servers.

Those who first noticed the glitch were Elden Ring players who encountered the error message during the day, but thought it was a glitch resulting from an update to a recently released game, and not from the operating system itself.
They were joined during the day by GTA players, Cole of Duty, and even Gran Turismo 7 - Sony's exclusive game.
A number of players have even reported difficulties connecting to PSN.
Sony has not yet given an official response on the matter, but the current situation is that players can not connect with their PS PLUS subscription to play online.
We recommend that you warn before installing the new system update, and wait for an official announcement or further update from Sony on the subject.

This is not the first glitch on Sony's servers.
Just this month the company released Gran Turismo 7, a game that requires a permanent network connection, but the game servers were down for almost two full days - which did not allow players who purchased the title to play, and only contributed more oil to the endless "Do games really need a permanent network connection".
