The Ministry of Education and the Vanguards of the Baath Organization organized this evening an artistic concert entitled “Our Legacy is Our Heritage”, in cooperation with the Revolutionary Youth Union, the Artists Union and the Babylonian Educational System on the stage of the Artists Syndicate in Aleppo.

The celebration included the screening of a documentary film on the history of singing and the Aleppo qadud and the importance of its inclusion on the UNESCO list of human heritage. The National Choir of Al-Shahba Choir presented a number of muwashshahs, Al-Qadud Al-Halabi and the Moulawiya dance led by Maestro Abdel Halim Al-Hariri.

In a statement to reporters, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa explained the importance of the city of Aleppo celebrating the transfer of the heritage of the ancestors to the children and grandchildren, and their desire to sing Al-Qudud and Al-Muwashahat Al-Halabi, which is a clear evidence of the nobility of art and heritage in the city.

In turn, the head of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization, Dr. Izzat Arabi Katbi, highlighted the importance of participatory work and concern for the ancient intangible heritage and its transmission to future generations, adding that the people of Aleppo have inheritances in performing the Aleppo Qudoud masterfully and masterfully.

The head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Sumer Al-Zaher, spoke about the importance of including Al-Qudud Al-Halabi on the UNESCO list and its consolidation in our memory and history.

Member of the Executive Office of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization, Waddah Al-Sawas, indicated that the ceremony is a clear message from the giant artists in the city of Aleppo, who had a key role in establishing the Aleppo Qudoud in the list of intangible heritage, adding that today's honor is an extension of honoring the late artist Sabah Fakhri last year.

Among the honorees, Abd al-Salam Babli, director of the al-Babli educational system, noted the richness of the city of Aleppo, its heritage and its excellence in all fields, especially that the inclusion of Aleppo’s Qudoud on the UNESCO list is evidence of its excellence over the decades.

The singers, Mustafa Hilal and Fouad Maher, considered that the honor constitutes an incentive for them to provide more giving and transfer the original art to the children. Yaman Nassar, director of the Sabah Fakhri Institute for Singing and Music, pointed out that the ceremony is an affirmation of the preservation of the people of Aleppo on their heritage and history.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, the Secretary of the Aleppo Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Ahmed Mansour, and the Syndicate of Syrian Teachers, Waheed Al-Zaal.

In addition, the Minister of Education visited Ahmed Tawfiq Malik School in the Al-Hamdaniya neighborhood and was briefed on the educational reality in it and the extent of benefiting from educational means.
