Despite disastrous DSDS quotas: RTL brings Florian Silbereisen for the next music show

With "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" Florian Silbereisen does not exactly give his employer RTL the hoped-for quotas.

The casting format, in which the hit star can be seen as the head of the jury, is attracting fewer and fewer viewers to the television.

Nevertheless, the 40-year-old is now part of another music show there.

Cologne – While Florian Silbereisen (40; current news, information & pictures of the hit star) regularly achieves dream ratings with his hit shows on public broadcasting, things are not really going well with “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”.

Fewer and fewer viewers turn on the casting show in which the 40-year-old can be seen as the head of the jury.

Nevertheless, RTL is now planning another format in which the folk musician should appear.

There was a time when Saturday evening was firmly in the hands of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", but after pop titan Dieter Bohlen (68) left, the RTL format seemed to appeal to fewer and fewer viewers.

The rejuvenation of the casting show, for which the jury was completely recast with Florian Silbereisen, pop star Ilse DeLange (44) and music producer Toby Gad (53), did not bring the hoped-for success.

The 40-year-old pop singer stayed below the two million mark for five episodes in a row, the last episode on Saturday evening (March 19) only achieved a market share of 8.5 percent (1.64 million viewers), according to the media portal DWDL.de reported.

Above all, the start of the season of "The Masked Singer" provided additional competition, which DSDS was defeated by a large margin.

Nevertheless, RTL is sticking to its new commitment and has now hired Florian Silbereisen for the third season of "Show us your voice".

In the music guessing show, presented by ex-jungle camp presenter Daniel Hartwich (43), seven candidates sing playback without revealing their real voice.

However, there are real singing talents hiding among the participants, who have to be uncovered in five rounds of the game.

In addition to a guessing team made up of celebrities that changes from episode to episode, there are also various music stars in front of the camera, who diligently puzzle along.

The show took place in front of a live audience.

The new "Show us your voice" season is expected to be broadcast in summer 2022. A total of six episodes were produced, in which other hit stars and other industry colleagues of Florian Silbereisen were in front of the camera, including modern-talking legend Thomas Anders (59) , singer-songwriter Tim Bendzko (36) or DSDS juror Ilse DeLange.

It remains to be seen whether the format will have better ratings than "Deutschland sucht den Superstar".

In any case, RTL has all sorts of prominent names up its sleeve to make the show a great success.

Things could also go up for DSDS, because the live shows, for which ticket sales have now started, are likely to generate increased interest again.

On the other hand, if you want to see the hit star in one of his big ARD music shows, you have to be patient: The "Feste der Volksmusik" shows should not return until summer at the earliest - but then probably in a double pack!
