Following the attack in Be'er Sheva, "Israel Today" has learned that Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked is promoting the law revoking citizenship from terrorists with Israeli citizenship.
The law is based on a proposal made at the time by MKs Avi Dichter and Orit Struck.
Shaked planned to pass the law many months ago, as she promised in an interview with Israel Today at the beginning of her term.
Under the law, an Israeli citizen who took part in a hostile terrorist act and who receives a support allowance from the Palestinian Authority will lose his Israeli citizenship.
The law is intended to block the Palestinian Authority from being able to pay terrorist salaries to Israeli citizens who carry out terrorist attacks.
As you may recall, most of the stabbing attacks in recent weeks were by Israeli ID holders.
The law is expected to provoke tension within the coalition, but Shaked is determined to pass it and even pledged to do so in a previous Knesset speech.
