Geretsried – In the most recent Geretsried construction committee meeting, the members approved the spatial concept presented for the new kindergarten on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße.

The facility is expected to be built by 2024.

As reported, the new daycare center is to be built because of the childcare situation in Geretsried, which has been tense for years.

Now the situation has changed somewhat.

The elongated building is not supposed to stand parallel to Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Strasse, as initially assumed, but to be built across the street in the northern area of the property.

According to Christoph Otawa from the building authority, the children would get more sun there and there would also be more space to drop off the children or to collect them again.

A conflict with the traffic intersection would also be avoided.

When it came to the number of children to be cared for, opinions differed.

The new day care center should accommodate around 200 children in ten groups.

Ann-Kathrin Güner (FW) in particular could not get used to this: "Well, I wouldn't want to work there." The educator would advocate smaller units.

In the new facility, four crèche groups will be accommodated on the ground floor and six kindergarten groups on the upper floor on a good 1,100 square meters.

Large need certain size of kindergarten

That's quite a lot, but Geretsried is also the largest town in the district.

The market survey conducted by the administration did not raise any concerns about the size of the facility.

"No one said it was too big.

We were also surprised, ”reported City Hall employee Stephanie Dickel.

However, the district office stipulated that two lines should be used.

That's why the room plan of the Munich office Degle Architekten includes two rooms for women managers.

In addition to the kitchen, there should also be a dining room, group rooms, multi-purpose, therapy, rest and baby carriage rooms.

In the end, the councilors agreed that the day care center would be large, but that it was absolutely necessary due to the demand.

All the councilors present voted in favor of the room concept presented.
