He has already worked in the kitchens in several mountain huts on Spitzingsee, and now Michael Reiser (33) has made it a little further up: He will be the new landlord in the Taubensteinhaus.
Spitzingsee
– Michael Reiser (33) describes the mountains around Spitzingsee as his “second living room”.
"I know every peak and every path here," enthuses the native of Tegernsee, who travels there all year round.
On skis, by bike or on foot.
From now on Reiser takes a seat in the executive chair of his living room: as tenant of the Taubensteinhaus of the DAV section Munich and Oberland.
As reported, the section recently took over the house at an altitude of 1567 meters not far from the mountain station of the Taubensteinbahn, which was vacant last year, from the Munich Bergbund and was therefore looking for a new host.
Reiser easily asserted himself against several candidates, reports Günther Manstorfer, chairman of the DAV section.
"We were looking for exactly this combination of kitchen and hut experience and local knowledge."

Michael Reiser has been the cook at several huts in the area
This is confirmed by looking at Reiser's previous places of work.
The 33-year-old completed his training as a chef at Gasthaus Sachs in Neuhaus.
After a period at the Alpenhof Bayrischzell, he was soon drawn up into his beloved mountains.
First to the DAV-Haus Spitzingsee (1124 metres), then to the Obere Maxlrainer Alm (1520 metres) and finally to the Schönfeldhütte (1410 metres).
Not only topographically, but also in terms of career, Reiser is now going even higher in the Taubensteinhaus.
For the first time, the chef, who lives near Fischbachau with his girlfriend Lena (34) and their son Xaver (1), will not only manage the kitchen but the entire hut with nine beds in shared rooms and 39 in the dormitory.

For the opening planned for June 2022, Reiser has already put together a team of four with “years of gastronomic experience”, reports DAV press officer Markus Block.
He wants to serve his guests "typical alpine fare" with ingredients preferably from the region, sometimes even from the family's own farm near Miesbach.
Vegans, vegetarians and meat lovers alike should find what they are looking for on the menu.
New concept for Taubensteinhaus to follow
The section wants to work out the overall concept for the house, which is managed in summer and winter, together with Reiser in the coming months, explains Block.
Whenever the innkeeper is staying with his family in the valley, a manager will run the business on the mountain.
Reiser's wife and child would certainly often visit and support him in his second living room.
