Their client, detained in Bois d'Arcy, was hospitalized Thursday at the Fresnes prison hospital, they said.

Indicted for "terrorist criminal association"
Florian D. announced on February 27 to start a hunger strike, believing that his "
political opinions
" have been "
criminalized
" by his pre-trial detention since the end of 2020. Since this announcement, he has received in a column published by Politis the support of personalities such as the writer Alain Damasio, the philosopher Étienne Balibar, the spokesperson for Attac Annick Coupé or the political scientist and feminist activist Françoise Vergès.
Since his arrest on December 8, 2020, Florian D., 37, has been imprisoned in solitary confinement and indicted for criminal "
terrorist criminal association
".
On February 16, he was denied house arrest.

I am currently only asking for my release while waiting to demonstrate the calumnious side of this shameful accusation
,” he added in his text released at the start of his hunger strike.
According to two sources familiar with the matter, seven people are indicted in this case, and Florian D. is the last detainee.

Considered the leader, he had fought with the Kurds of the People's Protection Units (YPG) in Rojava, in northeastern Syria, against the Islamic State group.
